Abstract
Considering the particularities of electricity as an industrial product and taking into the account the varied; varying variables associated to it, export of electricity is a very complex undertaking. Among various parameters which have influence on provision of a suitable ground for a favorable export of electricity, the technical, economic, legal, political, social, environmental and security issues are the most important issues to be seriously considered.
In this paper, briefly referring to the above listed issues; it is intended to deal with those pre -Requistes which a country should acquire in order to be qualified as an electricity exporting Country and just the same what qualifications a country should have in order to be considered as a potential importer of electricity?
Based on the conditions or qualifications that, either electricity importing or exporting countries should have, Iran is evaluated accordingly. This study shows that Iran is a strong Candidat for becoming an electricity exporting country in the region. Further more, it has Been tried to evaluate the existing situations of electricty in Iran’s neiboring countries to see which of them could be the potential market for Iran’s exported electricity.
