Goals:
Agriculture Research Group pursues the following goals within the general framework of the Department’s goals over a 20-year period broken into shorter periods:
- To analyze problems of execution of budget regulations in agriculture sector and promoting efficiency of implementation of the law in achieving the policy objectives and plans in agriculture,
- To assess agriculture budget bills in view of the five-year Development Plan and related policies,
- To assess implementation of policies of the government in agriculture sector in view of the overall policies of the 20-Year Vision Plan and its regulations,
- To assess the extent to which qualitative and quantitative goals of the agriculture sector have been achieved in the course of the five-year Development Plan and compare it with the plan’s goals,
- To assess laws, decisions, and interventions by organizations related to agriculture sector as well as policies and plans adopted by other sectors (domestic and foreign) which may affect the agriculture sector in the light of sectoral, trans-sectoral, and regional instruments of the five-year Development Plan,
- To offer necessary proposals for development of agriculture sector in the light of research and experience at both domestic and foreign levels.
Areas of interest:
- To propose topics for research and study, including, for example:
- To conduct studies and researches on sustainable development model for agriculture and to offer appropriate strategies,
- To conduct studies and researches on policies and plans in agriculture sector,
- To study macroeconomic policies for agriculture sector in parallel to other sectors (commerce, industry, infrastructures, power, co-ops…),
- To draw up necessary reports on results of conducted studies and researches for presentation to Department for Economic Studies,
- To contribute to research policies of the Department,
- To establish close relations with domestic and foreign universities and research centers to exchange knowledge and experience,
- To organize seminars and research workshop as scheduled.
