Department of Economic Research

Areas of interest:
1.    To study long-term economic development model of Iran within the framework of the general policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and to present policy options in this regard,
2.    To conduct studies on domestic financial policies (monetary, foreign exchange, and credit),
3.    To study macro policies in domestic energy sector and importance of energy in economic and industrial development of the country and to offer necessary strategies in this regard,
4.    To study macroeconomic policies in trade, agriculture, industries, and infrastructural sectors,
5.    To prepare necessary reports on the findings of studies to be forwarded to the Supreme Leader’s Office, the Expediency Council, and other authorities of the state,
6.    To study divergence of views between the Guardian Council and the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) which are within the areas of interests of this Department and to offer suitable mechanisms and proposals,
7.    To propose research projects and studies within the areas of interests of the Department,
8.    To take part in setting the research policies of the Center for Strategic Research,
9.    To contact domestic and foreign universities and research centers to establish collaborative research and exchange knowledge and experiences,
10.    To organize seminars and research and educational workshops according to an approved schedule.
